Why mists of pandaria will fail

What did that give us? Sub-par gear that we upgraded as soon as we started raiding. The, lets be honest, sub-par amount of new content in patches. Timless Isle, whilst fun for a week or so, was extremely slow and boring. The Pandas were boring. The revelation of what the Sha were was also a huge disappoint. Oh, Old Gods again? Give us something new! Although, personally, the weakest part of Pandaria was just how boring the Pandas were.

They had boring stories and boring lore. I felt absolutely no drive to fight for or with them. Blizzard had a brilliant opportunity to give us a fresh story with brilliant lore they could craft into something terrific.

Instead they gave us rotund bears with no real drive to do anything other then farm, eat, drink and commit mass genocide against the other races of Pandaria. The eventual monotony of MMOs coupled with other commitments meant that something had to give.

In this case, it was my WoW time. Some of it was bad, some of it was good. Overall, it is the weakest of the expansions I have been playing for. It is the only expansion where I have quit before the end. So many thing looks good. Number Crunch? Reskin of Character models? Going back to an alternate Draenor? Watching Orcs completely tear shit up? There are many more things one could say about WoW, it does a lot of stuff wrong but it does a hell of a lot of stuff right.

Thanks for reading my little review, let me know what you think in the comments. Do you agree or disagree? What did you like about Pandaria? What are you excited for about Draenor? I think your opinion on Mists is pretty on point. I played a bunch of it as well, and got burned out for mostly the same reasons. In Cataclysm, I mainly played a rogue, so getting my legendary daggers was a big draw to do Dragon Soul week after week. In Pandaria though, there was no such draw. Legendary cloaks?

For everyone? If anything, the Timeless isle was a great, off-beat addition to the game. That looks like a ton of fun. Oh, and one other thing…a huge reason, in my opinion, why WoW, and Pandaria specifically, felt lacking was because so many people relied so heavily on LFR, which is basically this:. The daily grind was finally something that I would force myself to endure on the first couple of characters, however, having 15 90s, not everybody gets to their farm every day either.

The grind from 85 onwards really puts me off of levelling. Hopefully levelling in WoD will be a lot more fun than in Pandaria. You are commenting using your WordPress. Since you know Post by Ashelia People are pretty much resistant to change. Add in pandas, and you have a lot of resistance. Personally, I hate the pandaren. I despise them, actually. But I love the ideas MoP is bringing to the table: the architecture, the zone, world raid bosses, and even the talents hate all you want, but Cata's system is so god awful and cookie cutter that I'd take anything over it.

Meanwhile, I also like the idea of the Sha rather than a Big Bad as the entire focus for the expansion. Post by badbee Do I want to play a panda?

Will I end up playing a Panda? Probably not Would I rather the new race had been something else? Yep Do I hate the idea of, it can't be much else atm MoP? Of course not, it'll be a new shiny expansion with lots of new stuff to try and do, I'm sure there'll be bits I don't like, and bits I love. Post by Azazel I love everything about it.

So obviously not everyone hates it. Post by Magician I mean give me one good reason as to why it is bad. First, as has been pointed out As for your "one good reason" I actually like playing "dwarfs, elves, humans, orcs, and trolls". I play WoW because I like "traditional" fantasy type stuff.

I'm an "old fart" by gaming standards I like dragons. I like bigger than life, pure fantasy type of fighting. For me, Pandas in general invoke thoughts of cuddly, fuzzy stuffed animals. I realize they can be dangerous IRL, but that is naver how they are portrayed. As I have said before Im not against the introduction of the Panda race.

It has its place in Lore, although it was a small one, it is there. It also has its diehard following, much due to the now infamous April Fools joke. I don't think it should have been the primary focus of an entire expansion. I have also said I will reserve final judgment for the beta. If it does turn out to be to much warm fuzzy WoW, Ill sit the expansion out.

If the rest of the changes are enough to counter my opposition to Pandas, I'll continue to play, and just ignore all the stuffed animals running around. Sadly, I think the next year is going to hell within the comminity and the forums. As it stands, we have about an equal split between like and dislike. This seems to be MUCH more than we have had with previous x-pacs.
