Why does incense get you high

And sometimes incense is burned because it just smells good! Here are some reasons you might want to steer clear of incense. It causes inflammation in your lungs. Incense is a type of air pollution. As mentioned above, any time you burn incense, dangerous pollutants are being released into the air you breathe. This includes including carbon monoxide, a poisonous, potentially deadly killer. Now, is burning an incense stick now and again going to poison you?

But it could make you clumsy, forgetful and even more tired. Since indoor air pollution is already worse than outdoor , do you really want to introduce more pollution into the air? Our four-legged friends have extremely sensitive noses. Something that smells nice to you is likely driving them nuts. Their lungs are also more sensitive to pollutants, and breathing incense smoke can give them respiratory problems.

The smoke could be more dangerous than cigarette smoke. Additionally, another study found that air pollution around places, like temples, where incense is burned regularly is harmful to health.

Particulate matter, or PM, is a mixture of small particles and liquid droplets that form as a result of chemical reactions between pollutants, according to the EPA. Once a person inhales PM, their heart and lungs can be seriously affected. It increases your risk of cancer. Can incense give you cancer? CBD joints dont give you a high but if you smoke about 6 at one shot will you start feeling any high?

Holy crap some of you are nuts… I have been smoking irregularly for about a year — picked it up almost nightly since the COVID thing started about six weeks ago. I am a scientist and actually measure the stuff out with a jewelry scale because I was curious about this very question…. It takes mg 0. Much more than that and I start to lose it. Ehh so I only have smoked like three times… And it was decent quality.

Like my friends would just take like 2 or 3 hits and be done. While I would take like fucking 20 hits and feel nothing. Like the 1st time I did like 4 hits. Nothing… 2nd time like 10 and 3rd like 20ish I think idk. Can some people just not get high?? Or is it just so fucking tough for me. Guys do some reasearch before spewing false information please.

Nobody can just stop getting high from weed. It may take a bit more, but weed will always get you high. Or probably I should take more hits. I feel like a lightweight too! When I first started smoking it took me like not that much hits to get high but then overtime I have to smoke a lot to get high.

Wtvr… hahaha i smoke around 1 or 2 grams a day.. I have smoked about 20 times before bongs, joints, and carts. Thank you, Michelle. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. February 24, at pm.

In tinctures, THCA can amplify many of the health benefits of other cannabinoids. THCA is known to relieve inflammation, pain, seizures, and more. Finally, THCA has displayed cancer-fighting characteristics. Delta 8 THC is a mildly intoxicating cannabinoid. In tinctures, this cannabinoid can create a balanced effect with other cannabinoids or offer a lower intensity experience when taken alone.

Delta 8 THC has been shown to aid in the treatment of pain, inflammation, anxiety, nausea, and appetite loss. Some cannabis-derived tinctures and other marijuana-infused products contain a range of CBD and THC cannabinoid ratios.

One of the most common ratios is tinctures delivering a balance of cannabinoids. If you consume marijuana tinctures, you are more likely to get high than using CBD-rich tinctures alone. Instead of feeling supremely high as you would with a THC-only tincture, a tincture can help you relax, slow down your stressful thoughts, and give you a slight buzz, depending on how much you take at a time. Overall, the tincture creates a balanced and pleasant high with minimal side effects.

Your ideal cannabinoid ratio depends on your marijuana tolerance. For new users, a low-THC ratio can provide an entry-level experience without the heavy narcotic effects.

When shopping for cannabis tinctures, consider the types of terpenes aromatic oils included in the formulation. Are they synthetically derived? Are they derived from cannabis? What other botanical sources are they derived from? Having a complete profile of terpenes in your tincture can work to enhance the effects of every cannabinoid. Sublingual delivery is fast-acting due to its quick introduction into the blood vessels and the brain. Incenses contain a mixture of natural and unnatural ingredients that create small, inhalable particulate matter.

A study in confirmed some of this particulate matter was carcinogenic, meaning it could cause cancer. This study also found an association between higher cancer risk and incense use.

Most of these cancers were upper respiratory tract carcinomas or lung carcinomas. Another study found inhalation of incense could be more cancerous than smoking a cigarette. This study was performed only on animal cells in vitro, however. Many toxic and irritant compounds were detected in the smoke alongside its aromatic compounds, meaning that it could create other health effects, too.

These compounds include:. Particulate matter in incense smoke not only contains carcinogens but also irritants.

This means it could lead to a number of respiratory diseases, such as asthma. One study evaluated over 3, schoolchildren for asthma, symptoms of asthma, and burning incense. The questionnaire revealed there was an association between incense, asthma , and asthmalike symptoms , such as wheezing. It also showed an association between incense use and an increased need for asthma medications. One study showed it may cause inflammation not only in the lungs, but also in the liver.

The study was limited since it was done only on animals. This inflammation was caused by the body processing particulate matter into metabolites, which also caused oxidative stress. Compounds in incense smoke may also affect metabolism. A study on rats showed it negatively impacted metabolism and weight. It noticeably caused undesirable weight loss and lowered good cholesterol levels. Like asthma and cancer, incense smoke has also been associated with increased risk of heart disease.
